About Me 

My name is Naomi Gumbs and I am a Freelance Illustrator. Drawing has always been my hobby ever since watching Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, which has been my favorite film from my early childhood. What made that movie impactful was the beautiful artwork and storytelling. After the first viewing, my focus then became drawing, especially on my bedroom walls. I was then fascinated with the concept art and later realized that they were the very ideas that gave life to an entire project. Becoming a concept artist would soon become my career focus and major.

 

Throughout the years of attending the Art Institute of California, working on numerous group and individual projects has rewarded me with teamwork, experience, skills, and dedication. Remaining loyal to completing the work and striving for improvement has been my focus since day one. Facing challenges like stress, procrastination, and even technical difficulties developed my ability to stay strong and overcome them. I have also developed a strong confidence with the digital format which has aided me with my drawings as much as a pencil and paper.
